I have recently decided to renew my blog. I have deleted all of the old posts and have given it a new look. It was about time, I haven’t touched the thing in several months.
Shayla and I just got back from a vacation in Mexico. We spent much of that time doing absolutely nothing. Ok, well, it seemed like nothing. We actually spent much of our time relaxing, rejuvenating, and eating. One of the things I enjoy most about these trips is meeting new people. Shayla and I will sit by the pool “people watching.” The people we typically encounter on these trips are interesting to say the least. Many people have traveled for days to be pool side with the sun beating down on them. Some of the people have traveled from Canada, the UK, Holland, and from many different States as well. As our eyes are drawn to the overly tanned beach bums and those that should not be wearing speedos, we make every effort to hold in our laughter. Many times I look over at Shayla and I can tell exactly what she is thinking. Who would have thought that after such a short time together, 4 years now, we would know each other so well. I am reminded and renewed when I think of how much I love her and how much we have grown together.
I ran across a passage today, Song of Soloman 4:9 which states, “You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride; you have stolen my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace.” However much I may know my wife, she will forever keep my attention and continue to surprise me. She continues to show me more of herself and at the same time she ends up teaching me more about myself. She surprises me, and I am glad for that because it renews our marriage.
